An American Airlines plane caught fire on the runway at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago.
American Airlines flight 383 was scheduled to depart Chicago for Miami at 2:20 p.m. local time. After a delay of an hour, the plane taxied when an engine fire erupted on the plane’s right wing.
The plane was evacuated of all passengers and crew, but it was not clear if there were any injuries.

There was initial confusion about the veracity of early reports that a plane was on fire, since there had been a training drill with practice fires near the airfield earlier in the day.
